DEPARTMENT OF AGING - Public Hearing Draft 2016-2020 State Plan on Aging; Public Comment; Public Hearings The Department of Aging (department) is making the draft 2016-2020 State Plan on Aging (plan) available for public review and comment in May 13th. Comments on this document will be used to formulate the department's final plan, which will be submitted to the Federal Administration on Aging for the commonwealth to receive federal funds under the Older Americans Act of 1965. Under the Older Americans Act, the Pennsylvania Department of Aging is required to develop and implement a strategic plan that outlines how the department will protect the commonwealth's most vulnerable, and empower individuals to age in place with the respect and dignity they deserve. The implementation of the upcoming state plan will begin on October 1, 2016 and be carried out until September 30, 2020. Residents, local government officials, and interested organizations in the commonwealth are invited to submit comments on the plan.
