ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS OWNER: WHITE OAK BOROUGH 2280 Lincoln Way White Oak, Pennsylvania 15131 Separate and sealed bids will be received at a meeting of the White Oak Borough at their office at the White Oak Borough Municipal Building until 1:00 p.m., Prevailing Time on June 17, 2016, at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud for the following White Oak Athletic Building Renovations Contracts: WHITE OAK ATHLETIC BUILDING RENOVATIONS 9775-16-01A - General Construction 9775-16-01B - Electrical Construction 9775-16-01C - Mechanical Construction Copies of the Specifications may be obtained at the office of The EADS Group, Inc., 11045 Parker Drive, North Huntingdon, PA 15642, upon deposit of one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00), which price includes 6% Pennsylvania Sales Tax for each set. NO REFUND WILL BE MADE ON THE DOCUMENTS. Copies of the Contract Documents can be mailed to prospective Bidders upon receipt of the one hundred fifty dollar non-refundable deposit. Specifications are on file both at the office of The EADS Group, Inc. and the office of the Owner for viewing by interested bidders. NO DOCUMENTS WILL BE RELEASED UNTIL FULL PAYMENT HAS BEEN RECEIVED BY THE EADS GROUP. There will be a Pre-Bid Conference regarding the White Oak Athletic Association Building Renovations Project on June 9, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Prevailing Time. The Conference will occur at the project site 1798 Lower Heckman Road, White Oak, PA 15131. All bidders are encouraged to attend this meeting. No Bidder may withdraw a bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Should there be reasons why the Contract cannot be awarded within the specified period, the time may be extended by mutual agreement between the Borough of White Oak and the Bidder. A certified check, payable to the Owner, or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and a Surety Company, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid, shall be submitted with each bid. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory Labor and Material Payment Bond. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities and accept or reject any or all bids. This project must be performed in compliance with Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program Requirements. The award of the Contract is subject to Section 2 of the Act of 1978, November 26, P.L. 1309, No. 317, which provides that the Borough of White Oak may delay its Award of Bid for a period not in excess of one hundred and twenty (120) calendar days, pending the granting of the required approval of other governmental agencies that may be involved by reason of the construction of the project. Prime Contractors are encouraged to use small and minority business and women's business enterprises as Subcontractors whenever feasible. The Borough will provide the Contractor with this information upon request. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project. All Bidders on this work will be required to comply with the Contract Compliance Regulations of the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, 16 PA Code Chapter 49 and with all laws prohibiting discrimination in hiring or employment opportunities. The Contract awarded under this Advertisement for Bids is to be funded by Local and State Funds.
