A D V E R T I S E M E N T THE McCANDLESS TOWNSHIP SANITARY AUTHORITY ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA Sealed bids will be received by The McCandless Township Sanitary Authority, 418 Arcadia Drive, Pittsburgh, PA until WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 2017 AT 3:00 P.M. prevailing time, for furnishing ONE (1) NEW 2017 TANDEM AXLE 66,000 GVW CAB AND CHASSIS WITH A 4,000 GALLON ALUMINUM VACUUM TANK AND PUMPING SYSTEM. Specifications are on file at the office of The McCandless Township Sanitary Authority. Bids may not qualify any of the specifications. Immediately after the said closing time for the receipt of such bids, all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in the Authority's office. The proposal shall be clearly marked on the envelope - SEALED BID: ONE (1) NEW 2017 TANDEM AXLE 66,000 GVW CAB AND CHASSIS WITH A 4,000 GALLON ALUMINUM VACUUM TANK AND PUMPING SYSTEM and the name and address of the bidder shall also be shown on the envelope. A Certified Check or Bid Bond satisfactory to the Authority, signed by the bidder, with Corporate Surety authorized to do business in Pennsylvania, and payable to The McCandless Township Sanitary Authority in an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. However, the liability of the bidder is not limited to the amount of the Bid Bond or Certified Check, but the successful bidder shall be responsible for the total loss sustained by the Authority in the event that he shall fail to sign the contract. Bids must be submitted on the uniform bid blank supplied with the specifications. Failure to do so will disqualify the bid. No bid may be withdrawn for sixty (60) calendar days after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids. The successful bidder will be required to enter into a contract with The McCandless Township Sanitary Authority, as provided in the Bidding Documents. Price shall be quoted without Federal Excise Tax or State Sales Tax, as the Authority is exempt from such taxes. Exemption certificate will be issued to cover the amount of such tax applicable. The Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities in the bidding.
