MUNICIPALITY OF BETHEL PARK ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA NOTICE OF BIDS Sealed Proposals will be received by the Municipality of Bethel Park, Allegheny County, PA for the 2016 Road Program as follows: BASE BID : The base bid involves the pavement maintenance on various roads throughout the Municipality including 55,420 s.y. of milling between 1 ½" to 3 ½" in depth, 1,045 s.y. of base repair, 3,525 tons of 19 mm Superpave binder course, 5,745 tons of 9.5 mm Superpave fine graded wearing course, 4 inlet/manhole adjustments, 98 new inlets, 2027 l.f. of 6" underdrain, 65 l.f. of 12" or 15" storm sewer, 3 new inlet frames and grates, 265 s.y. of concrete driveway, 64 s.f. of concrete sidewalk, grass restoration and traffic control. ALTERNATE BID - ROAD PROGRAM: The alternate bid involves the pavement maintenance on various roads throughout the Municipality including 16,930 s.y. of milling between 1 ½" to 3 ½" in depth, 220 s.y. of base repair, 415 tons of 19 mm Superpave binder course, 1,750 tons of 9.5 mm Superpave fine graded wearing course, 5 inlet frames and grates, 30 new inlets, grass restoration and traffic control. All proposals must be addressed and in the hands of the Municipal Manager, William J. Spagnol, Municipality of Bethel Park, 5100 West Library Avenue, Bethel Park, PA 15102 before 11:00 a.m. prevailing time on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 and the same will be publicly opened and read immediately thereafter. Proposals shall be delivered in a sealed envelope and clearly marked on the outside with the words "2016 ROAD PROGRAM". Pennsylvania prevailing wages shall be paid on this project. Copies of Drawings, Specifications, Instructions to Bidders, General Conditions, Forms of Proposals and Agreement may be secured at the Municipal Engineer's Office, 5100 West Library Avenue, Bethel Park, PA 15102 for a payment of $ 20.00 per set. No refund will be made for the return of any documents. Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds, along with Public Liability and Property Damage Certificates of Insurance in the amounts specified, as well as Certificates of Workman's Compensation must be filed with the executed Agreement. Proposals to receive consideration must be accompanied by a Certified Check or Bidder's Bond from a Surety Company authorized to do business in Pennsylvania, made to the order of the Municipality of Bethel Park in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the Proposal. All proposals will remain firm for a period of sixty (60) days after the date of opening.
